Feltwork: is this a lion? or a flower?!

i always wanted a needle felted lion as they are so cute! After making my own research online, i decided to make this cute little lion head! (i'm not good in making the body.. hehe)

This "lion head" is made of circles. well, i made some motivation to mix 2 colours of the felt of blue n light blue. then... before completion, it turned out to be a flower!! >< so this "lion head" has 2 sides. 1 side is a flower and another side is a lion! hahahaa..

I attached a handphone stripe to it. so it can be a bit useful. ^^

This project is great if you would like to practice making circles or you are good at making circles in needle felting.

Beadwork: My first swarovski ring.

This is my 1st ring made by myself with guidance from my dear friend. I love the bling bling reflection from swarovski crystals and pearls. It took quite a long time for me to finish this project as it is quite challenging to make them look even.

i really enjoy making jewelery myself and will definitely try beading again. This design is best for party, dinner, and special occasions.

Soapwork: Glycerine soap with embedded object

My 2nd trial after i purchased my glycerine from the internet. I saw this design from the internet and i kind of love it very much so i decided to take a try. As we know, glycerine has the properties to moisture and soften the skin.

Glycerine soap disscolves in warer more rapidly compare to soap with less glycerine. More over, if glycerine soap is left exposed to air, it will attract moisture and "glisten" with beads of ambient moisture.  Glycerine soap should be wrapped properly once done.

I'm using embedded and suspending marigold petal technique this time. However i melted my embedded object on my 1st pour. :( and the soap became not perfect.

By the way, I am happy to see the marigold petal suspended perfectly but I need to work harder on the embedded technique. As you can see, the object is not adhere evenly and it looks ugly though..

This is consider a big bar of soap, i decided to keep this soap instead of remake it again.

it took me around 2 hours to complete this project as im using a double boiler, and things kinda screwed up in between. :P

Feltwork: My First Handmade Duckie

Quek Quek Quek! I'm little duckie! hehe..  this is my 1st duckie i learnt from a felting book. Felting is interesting and fairly easy. You do not need to do any drafting, cutting or sewing. what you need is felt, needle and a sponge! And most importantly.. your imagination, creativity and patience... ;)

While making this duckie.. i broke my felting needle before i completed this project. Luckily, i get the replacement a week later and i continue by adding the pink flower on the side and modified his mouth. it looks cuter now isn't it? ^^

After awhile, i feel it would be nice to add a stripe for him. This will make him a useful duckie. :p I hang him on my table lamp. Everytime i look at him.. he is SOOOOoo Cute~~ ><  Perhaps i should made another 1 for him... should i? :P

Soapwork : My first handmade soap - Bear on Jelly Roll

This jelly roll soap was made in the kitchen yesterday! i pickup some recipe from the internet and modified to match the ingredients i have on hand. It was a big hoo-haa happened in the kitchen as things does not turn out as expected. My soap took longer time than i expected to be fully melted and it gets harden faster than i expect too!

The bear doesn't turn out to be "visible" as they were cut and my friend couldn't even see a bear is there.. (but it is there!!!) After all the effort and ad-hoc on spot correction, this is the end product! Bear on Jelly Roll.. "black hearted soap" came across my mind during that time if use a heart shape mold. i plan to remake these soaps during the weekend after i took this photo..

Oh ya, a little introduction on my soap, it is added with rose geranium essential oil, purple gromwell root powder (turn my soap into grey><), charcoal powder. Even the soap doesnt looks nice but the property is not affected.

Charcoal powder - absorb skin impurities, excess oil.

Purple gromwell root powder - detoxifying, stimulate tissue regeneration effect, ant- flammatory.

Rose geranium essential oil-balance between oily and dry skin, keeping the skin supple and clearing congested skin and the emotions-where it helps to relieve feelings of stress and anxiety, and to balance the hormone system.

Patchwork: My 1st coin pouch - Kuma

熊(くま)is bear in japanese, read as "ku ma" i decided to put kuma at the back of the pouch because i have a bear sewed in front of the pouch. This was done last year and i decided to share this here because this is my 1st coin pouch i made in Q gallery (thanks for teaching me with patience)  as 1 of the project in my patchwork class. It took me some time to sew the frame and it worth the effort and time. The purse turned out as expected and i'm using it to keep my coins now. ^^

i have more coin purse to share here. Stay tuned. :)
